Privacy policy

Effective October 6, 2026. Dotline is operated by Accountable. Contact kevin@accountablehq.com with privacy questions or requests.

What we collect

We store your account identifier, dot name, mobile number, phone-verification status, assigned messaging line, and connection settings. We also store messages exchanged through your dot’s line, any contacts you add, message drafts, delivery status, subscription and event-monitor records, and an audit log of account and messaging actions. A saved contact card contains your dot’s name, its messaging number, and the Dotline image.

Dotline does not import your personal Apple Messages history, your iPhone address book, or your Apple account credentials. Do not provide passwords, provider API keys, payment-card details, government identifiers, or protected health information in chat or text messages.

Why we use it

We use this information to identify your account, verify that texts come from your phone, route messages and replies, show connection and delivery status, prevent duplicate or unauthorized sends, operate your message monitor, manage existing subscription access, and respond to support requests. Message content is used to carry out your conversation with the dot you connect.

Who processes it

Sendblue processes message content, phone numbers, attachments, and delivery information to provide iMessage and SMS transport. OpenAI processes messages and relevant context through your connected ChatGPT account and dot, under your OpenAI account settings and its policies. Railway, Cloudflare, and Vercel provide hosting, storage, and delivery infrastructure. Those providers may process request and security logs, including IP addresses and timestamps.

Stripe processes subscription payments and billing details on its hosted pages. Dotline stores billing identifiers, entitlement status, plan and renewal information; Dotline does not receive your full card number or card security code. We do not sell personal information or use message content for advertising. We may disclose information when required by law or to investigate abuse or protect the service.

Retention

Dotline currently retains account, conversation, contact, delivery, and audit records while your account remains on the service. These records do not have an automatic expiry. You may request deletion at the email above. We remove records we can delete and explain any billing, security, or legal records that must be retained. Disconnecting the plugin or cancelling billing does not itself delete stored conversations. Infrastructure backups and independent provider records follow those providers’ retention schedules.

Your controls

You can pause messaging in Manage texting, disconnect Dotline in ChatGPT, manage billing through Stripe’s hosted billing portal, and review outgoing drafts before approving texts to another person. You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your Dotline records. We verify account ownership before fulfilling a request. Do not send sensitive information in an initial support email.

Security and changes

Access to conversations and account actions is scoped to the authenticated account. Messaging verification, approval records, and duplicate-send controls help prevent unauthorized actions. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We update this page when our data practices change and show the effective date above.
