A little help
getting connected.
Start from your iPhone
Open setup. Use your existing dot’s name and your own mobile number, including the country code. When your account has a line, tap Verify in Messages and send the prepared text. Connect the ChatGPT plugin, ask your dot to turn on replies, then send a hello. Setup confirms after your real reply is delivered.
I don’t have a number yet
We’re in a private preview. Creating a profile does not assign or buy a line. If setup says “Number not assigned yet,” your account still needs an enabled messaging line. The current test number is shared.
The plugin is installed but my dot won’t reply
Installation connects the tools; your dot also needs to turn on its message monitor. Ask it to add iMessage to itself using Dotline. Your setup page shows whether it’s listening. Keep your existing connection and monitor rather than creating another.
A reply is taking a while
Recent replies took about 30 seconds, and timing varies. Check your connection before retrying. Don’t ask your dot to repeat a failed or uncertain send; review the delivery status in Manage texting.
Texting someone else
Add the contact in Manage texting, then ask your dot to draft a text. You review and approve the exact recipient and words. Outbound messaging must be enabled on the line’s Sendblue plan. This does not send from your personal Apple account.
What messages does Dotline see?
Messages exchanged with the dot’s line, the verified owner number, added contacts, drafts, delivery status, and approval records are stored to route the conversation. They are processed through Sendblue and your connected ChatGPT dot. Your personal Apple Messages history is not imported.
